The Egyptian Customs Authority issued Export Circular No. (2) of 2026, regarding the implementation of Ministerial Decision No. (1) of 2026, which is valid for one year.
The decision stipulates the continuation of an export duty of EGP 3,000 per ton on lead battery parts and separators (HS Code 85079010), with exports restricted to manufacturing companies only.
The measure aims to regulate exports of lead battery components, following the shift from a full export ban to conditional export with duties, in order to protect local industry and ensure product availability in the domestic market.
