Egypt Plans Integrated Logistics Hubs at Ain Sokhna

The Egyptian government is preparing to establish integrated logistics centers in Ain Sokhna with investments estimated at USD 60 million, to support port services and strengthen the area’s role as a key hub on global trade routes via the Suez Canal.

The project aims to:

  • Accelerate cargo handling

  • Improve supply chain efficiency

  • Support local and international distribution of industrial products

Phase one includes: bonded warehousing, container handling, and repacking and sorting services.
Phase two includes: the development of new bonded yards to meet growing demand.

This comes in parallel with the start of commercial operations at the largest container terminal in Ain Sokhna, operated by Hutchison Ports in partnership with COSCO and CMA CGM, with a capacity of up to 1.7 million TEUs annually.
