The shipping line CMA CGM announced that its INDAMEX service will resume transits via the Suez Canal on round-trip voyages between India, Pakistan, and the U.S. East Coast, reflecting the renewed passage of container vessels through the Red Sea.
The first vessel to complete a full service rotation via the Suez Canal will be CMA CGM VERDI, scheduled to sail from Karachi to New York on January 15.
According to sources, resuming transit via the Suez Canal instead of routing around the Cape of Good Hope will reduce the service’s total round-trip duration by two weeks, bringing the overall voyage time down to 77 days.
