Severe Waves Cause the Loss of 45 Containers off the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean

 The container vessel ONE (Ocean Network Express) Continuity, sailing under the Singapore flag, lost approximately 45 containers in the Atlantic Ocean south of the Canary Islands after encountering severe sea conditions that caused several containers on deck to slide and tilt. 

As a result, the vessel declared an emergency situation and altered its course to Las Palmas Port (Canary Islands) to berth safely and begin operations to discharge and re-secure the affected cargo. Reports indicate that around 100 containers either fell overboard or became misaligned, and corrective operations are currently underway to restore them to their proper positions.
