Postponement of mandatory UCR Implementation on egyption exports to january 2026

The Egyptian Customs Authority announced a new regulation for all export shipments, stating that no booking will be issued for any export cargo unless a Unique Consignment Reference (UCR) number is obtained.
This UCR serves as a unique identifier assigned by Egyptian Customs for each export shipment.

The regulation was initially planned for a pilot phase starting October 1, followed by mandatory implementation on October 31, 2025.

However, the official enforcement of the UCR system has been postponed to January 2026, following requests from the exporter community.
The decision was announced during a seminar organized by the Food Export Council, granting an additional transition period for companies to complete their technical and operational preparations before full implementation.
